Skegness cut down Lincoln’s Roses

Skegness Ladies 4, Lincoln Roses II 2

SKEGNESS Ladies hockey team took on Lincoln Roses II at Lincoln University at the weekend.

After a slow start, Skegness took the lead with a great goal from Kate Richardson, shortly followed by an attacking shot from the Roses, which levelled out the score at 1-1.

A second goal for Skegness from Debbie Skipworth and another swift attack from the Roses left the standings at 2-2 at half time.

With the baking heat from the sun the second-half started fiercely, with Skegness getting their third goal through a textbook-style deflection from Claire Dougall.

The Roses came back harder and faster than the first half but with no luck as Cori Jeeves scored Skegness Ladies’ fourth goal with the help of man of the match Georgie Deacon, settling the final score at Skegness Ladies 4, Lincoln Roses II 2.
