Spalding scored their first win in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League – and this result knocked Bracebridge Heath off the top spot.

And with joint leaders Skegness also losing at home to Woodhall Spa, Louth took the opportunity to move into first place after coming out on the right side of a draw at Sleaford in the highest scoring game of the day.

Arran Brindle hit 59 and Azeem Ghumann scored the second century of the league season with 103 to help the visitors to 282 for seven. But Sleaford were also in run scoring mode, Oliver Burford making 60 before the overs ran out with the total on 246 for eight.

Grimsby went up into second place and Harry Clewett was man of the match for the second week in succession after victory over Hartsholme. Clewett (66) and Steve Crossley (64) put on 120 for Grimsby’s fifth wicket and the home side reached 226 before the final wicket fell in the 49th over.

Richard Genge took five wickets for Hartsholme but Clewett went one better with six for 18 as Hartsholme were all out for 118 to leave them bottom of the table after three games.

Lindum stay just above Hartsholme despite a winning draw at Bourne. Karanjit Bansal made 66 and Charlie Tomlinson 55 as Lindum reached 208 for three but Ben Stroud’s 50 pushed Bourne’s score along and at the close the home side were 175 for six.

Matt Sergeant was the mainstay of Woodhall’s win over former joint leaders Skegness, who are now third. Sergeant’s unbeaten 79 saw his side to 218 for eight and Sathpath Kelum then took five wickets as the seasiders were all out for 150.

Campbell Light was the architect of Spalding’s win, his seven for 70 helping to bowl Bracebridge out for 118, Nick John making 61.

Bracebridge reached 95 for one before wickets began to tumble and Spalding also saw their innings collapse from 40 without loss to 68 for four before Light’s innings of 42 got them within sight of victory and new signing Ian Smith saw them home by four wickets.

Market Deeping went fifth after victory over champions Haxey who were all out for 131, Kamran Raza taking five for 38, Deeping then lost four wickets before reaching their target.
