The top of the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League changed yet again as leaders Grimsby went down to struggling current champions Haxey. Market Deeping suffered a last ball defeat at Sleaford and Spalding continued in giant-killing mode with a winning draw at home to Skegness.

But it was Sleaford who notched up the day’s highest total after an awesome 179 not out off 140 balls for Kiwi international Tim McIntosh which took them to 309 for three, Tom Shorthouse chipping in with 68. Alex Wheatley then made 57 and Tom Andrews 50 to take Deeping to 252 when the final wicket fell.

Woodhall Spa now head the league after a low scoring game at Louth, while Hartsholme slipped further behind in last place after a heavy defeat at Lindum.

Four wickets for Agha Tahir, including a hat trick, helped restrict Woodhall to 144 all out, a modest total that nevertheless proved beyond Louth’s reach as the home side’s last wicket fell on 124.

At Grimsby, Graeme Attenborough hit 59 as Haxey set their opponents a target of 208 for eight. Grimsby then found themselves 78 for six as Josh Savage and Paul Bell got among the wickets. Steve Crossley (35) and Connor Hawkins halted the slide but Hawkins ran out of partners on 37 as the final wicket fell on 141.

Three half centuries helped Spalding to the lion’s share of the points against Skegness. Warren Nel making 75, Josh Newton 52 and Campbell Light an unbeaten 59 to take the score to 251 for four. But their opponents’ final wicket proved elusive as the seasiders finished on 190 for nine.

There were also three half centuries at Bourne, where Bracebridge Heath notched up 288 for six.

Paul Cook with 81, Brett Houston 55 and Nick John getting out just one short of his century. Stuart Airey then continued his excellent batting form with 71 as Bourne also hung on to their last wicket to finish 203 for nine.

Lindum continued their good run, Will Wright making 77 and Alex Hornsby 74 of their side’s total of 229 for six. Hartsholme never recovered from a poor start and were all out for 77.
