WAINFLEET United, of division one, in the Boston and District League had a superb victory when they beat premier division side Old Leake away 6-3.

Wainfleet made a good start when a Rob Jackson header put them 1-0 up.

Old Leake fought back and scored twice to 2-1 up, but Wainfleet won a penalty which Michael Parnham converted to make it 2-2.

Old Leake scored again to go 3-2 up, before Wainfleet once more drew level at 3-3 through a terrific drive by Michael Parnham.

Wainfleet used substitute Shaun Drury and Alex Clarke in the second half, Wainfleet went 4-3 up through Michael Parnham again, which completed his hat trick.

Wainfleet went even further ahead through a hard drive from Shaun Connolly, to make it 5-3.

Wainfleet made the score 6-3 when Royston Wilkinson powered home a header.

In the closing minutes, Old Leake were awarded a penalty, from which Wainfleet keeper Joe Perry made a brilliant save.

Wainfleet’s man of the match was Michael Parnham.
