SPILSBY Town entertained Wainfleet United in a friendly match on Thursday, and the result finished all square at 3-3.

Wainfleet made a lightning start, and were ahead after only five seconds, when a long ball from John Jeffrey found Wilf Britton, whose searing pace took him clear of the defenders and he fired past the keeper.

Spilsby fought back, and scored twice to lead 2-1 at the interval, with Wainfleet keeper Dan Simpson making some brilliant saves in the first half.

Wainfleet drew level at 2-2 when Royston Wilkinson scored with a volley from a corner by Shaun Connolly. Spilsby went 3-2 up with an own goal.

Wainfleet again drew level at 3-3 when Michael Parnham scored with a terrific drive after a pass by Shaun Connolly.

In almost the last minute of the game, Spilsby were awarded a penalty, which was magnificently saved by Joe Perry.
