Fifty local school children descended on Butlins recently to take part in a fun-filled Paralympic Goalball event.
Students from Skegness Grammar School and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School helped run the event for three locals schools and provided the children with a day of sporting fun and games.
The children from Hogsthorpe, Seathorne and Richmond Primary Schools took part in a day of training and competition in an effort to make paralympic sports
Organiser Rebecca Connick said: “The kids played Goalball with blindfolds on, so it put every child on a level playing field”.
At the end of the day their efforts were rewarded, with each child receiving a certificate and stickers.
The organisers have thanked Butlins, after it let them use their facilities for free. Plans to run more events like this in the future are in place and will hopefully encourage even more students to get involved.
