Skegness Men’s Over 60s ‘A’ team continued their winning ways with a fine 14-4 points win over Lincoln ‘C’ in the Lincolnshire County League First Division.
In the 110 shot to 79 victory, John Canham, Brian Kilby, Dave Briggs and Maurice Thorold led the scoring with a 28-8 card; supported well by the rinks skipped by Ken Startin 21-17 and Dave Conroy 22-9.
In the club rounds of the Lincolnshire Men’s Pairs Competition, Neil Salmon and Peter Ord scored the one shot necessary to win on the last end, 20 shots to 19 in a close match with Mick and Carl York after the pairs were locked at 19 shots all.
Alan Irving and Brian Kilby strolled into the next round, scoring well in a 25-10 win over Ken Startin and Dave Warren.
The members of Spilsby Bowls Club visited Wainfleet Road for a Sunday morning friendly.
The result was a close one-shot 66-65 win for the home club and, with several Spilsby members not playing regularly on the indoor carpet, this was a good performance from the outdoor club who will be keen to reverse this result on their next encounter.
