The improvements to the courts will involve the removal of the artificial front wall playing surface, to be replaced with a high-grade natural surface, a new state of the art LCD lighting system, repairs, maintenance and remarking of the side walls and the sanding down, re-varnishing and remarking of the floor.

Squash Section representative Iain Jubbs said: “I was delighted that the committee has agreed this major investment.

“The new courts should be as good as anything else you will find and it will certainly put us back on the map.”

To accommodate the work, the courts will be closed from Monday, for between a week to 10 days.

Club nights are held each Wednesday (6–7.20pm).

Non-members are offered two free taster sessions and no experience is necessary.
