Netballers at the King Edward Academy were given a once-in-a-lifetime chance this week when they took part in a netball masterclass delivered by Loughborough Lightening and England player Olivia Mason.
The masterclass ran over the course of the afternoon for a number of students who had the opportunity to have a question and answer session with her and learned some valuable advice,
The first question was put forward and they asked was it hard to get on to the team.
Olivia answered and said it took hard work, commitment and dedication for training and the competitions.
After the question and answer session the students got put through their paces with a series of attacking and defending practices.
These practices are ones used by the super league team in training and our girls showed fantastic skill and understanding and glided through the practices with ease.
It was amazing to see the improvement by every single one of the students that took part,
Olivia related the practices to game situations and reinforced the students knowledge and why it was important to use certain movements and passes in a game.
The school would like to thank Olivia for coming and being such an inspiration to their students.
