Old Leake put four past Wainfleet

Football friendly

By Barry Baker

WAINFLEET United, who have finished fifth in division one of the Boston and District league, played away at Old Leake, who finished third in the premier division.

Wainfleet started well, with their defence playing particularly well, and keeper Bob Jackson bringing off several superb saves in the first half. Old Leake led by just the one goal at the interval.

In the second half, Old Leake scored three times at regular intervals to round off a final score of 4-0.

The Old Leake keeper made some spectacular saves to deny Wainfleet’s scoring efforts.

Wainfleet’s man of the match was Miles Chamberlain.

The presentation night will be held on Saturday, July 16, at the Woolpack Hotel, Wainfleet.
