On a cold and windy April morning, seven members of Skegness Triathlon Club travelled to Southwell near Newark.
Members were competing in their first triathlon of the season.
It was a sprint distance triathlon, starting with a 400m swim in the leisure centre pool, followed by a quick transition and onto the bike leg for a tough hilly course on main roads, totalling more than 17km.
Then the triathletes moved onto the second transition and a quick change into running shoes, to end the event with a 5k undulating run.
Competitors described the event as ‘very well organised and marshalled’.
Results: Michael Irving 1:05:05 (PB); Matt Wain 1:05:50 (PB); and Michyla Clark 1:18:05.
For four of the Skeg triathlon club members this was their first triathlon and they all achieved fantastic times: Lee St Quinton 1:11:35, David Johnson 1:15:50, James Parker 1:18:22 and Claire Draper 1:18:39.
