SKEGNESS motor-racing ace Sarah Budby has been putting herself through a tough pre-season regime in preparation for the coming season.
Sarah has been hitting the gym everyday and testing at tracks as much as she can. Her last test day was at Silverstone race track in her MG ZR.
Despite being only her second time out in the car Sarah was quick. She’s hoping to have a seat in the Clio Cup next year, which is the supporting class for BTCC and will be looking for sponsorship to help her.
Sarah said: “It would be amazing if I could get all local companies to sponsor me for the Clio Championship,
“I’m a Skegness girl and it would be nice for locals to support a local talent.
“I’m lucky enough to have the sponsors I have. New Era Gym have now come on board supporting my fitness and health which is a great help.
“After all, motorsports isn’t just about sitting in a car and driving it. I race endurance so you’re in a boiling hot car for 20 minutes sometimes 45 minutes and opening a window drags so that’s a definite no-no.
“If you’re not fit enough you’ll lack consistency and speed in the corners, it’s important to have physical strength and also good stamina.
“New Era Gym has everything I need to get my body up to where I need it to be and its a great gym with great staff that really help you out.
“In such a good environment to be in, working out never seems like a task. You’re always having a laugh with the people there.”
