The importance of the aggregate score points was highlighted in the Skegness Men’s Lincolnshire County League Division Two match away at Sleaford.
Winning on three of the five rinks played, and losing by just one shot on another, it was a devastating 37-5 defeat by the remaining rink that cost Skegness the match.
The total scores were Sleaford’s 105 shots (12 points) to Skegness’s 81 shots (six points).
Representing Rough Diamonds in the newly introduced Club Pairs Intermediate League, Keith Findlay and Rob Rankin maintained their team’s 100 per cent record with a big win over S.O.S by 35 shots to two.
Chasing them in second place, Fusion also have perfect record but have played one game fewer than the leaders.
In the Ladies’ League leaders Crystals did not have things all their way against lowly Vixiens. They were trailing 8-11 until the 14th end when they scored four shots followed by three in the next to eventually take the match 15-12.
Crystals remain two points clear of Diamonds, Genesis and Hopefuls, all with the same points with positions decided by shot difference.
In the sponsored “Frank Woods” Evening Triples League, newly promoted Figmants lead the way with Challengers on the same points. Not far away are well established teams Help, Cosmos and Plebs.
The Men’s E.B.A. league leaders Layabouts have scored the same number of points and shots as second placed Hopefuls but have only had 78 shots scored against them to Hopefuls’ 85.
Third placed Plebs will press the leaders as will Cosmos in this closely contested League.
