Skegness Amateur Boxing Club have completed in their first season of boxing.

The club is affilated to England Boxing and is based at SFK Gym on Heath Road.

A total of 10 of the carded boxers have competed all across the region.

Eddie Rich won his first bout by a split decision in Barnsley and Joe Turner won by decision in Grimsby.

Josh Flay stopped his opponent in the second round at his bout in Worksop and Curtis Redford won by decision at his first bout in Nottingham.

England Boxing Coach Ross Flay said “It’s been a really good start for the club and we have had some good results.

“It’s been good to see the lads committing to their training and then seeing their hard work pay off in the ring.

“We now look forward to next season and hosting our own show in Skegness and bringing amateur boxing back to the town.”

The gym is now looking to recruit male and female members, catering for beginners as well as advanced fighters.

Boxing classes are hels on Tuesdays (5-6pm) and Thursdays (7-8pm) and Saturdays (10.30-11.30am).
