Chapel Beach Angling Club held their latest match on Saturday, May 18 at Jacksons Corner.
The match was for the biggest flat fish and it was fished between 10am and 2pm.
The weather was fair and the sea was calm. A good turnout was had for the match and a good day was had by all.
All anglers caught on the day and the winner of the match was a 35cm flat fish caught by Mark Robinson. He just beat close rival Danny Smith, who had been leading the match with his 33cm flat fish.
In third place with a 29cm flattie was Barry Staniland and in a close fourth was Glyn Davies with his 27cm fish. Glyn also caught the only round fish of the day. It was a 32cm whiting, which is unusual at this time of the year.
The club’s next match is on Saturday, May 25 at the Boating Lake, Trunch Lane, between 5pm and 9pm.
