A CHOPPY sea and a southwesterly wind met the members and visitors to Chapel Beach Angling Club’s latest match at Moggs Eye on Saturday evening.
Eleven anglers in total turned out for the match and so did plenty of fish.
In total 129 fish were caught between them, weighing in at 70lb.
The overall winner of the match was Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) member and visitor to the match Dave Burr with a total bag weight of 13lb 5 1/2oz,
In second place came Chapel club member Rick Jarvis with a bag weight of 11lb 5 1/4oz and taking third place was another Chapel member Danny Tennant with his bag weight of 9lb 10 3/4oz.
Rick Jarvis also took the prize money for the biggest round fish with his 10 1/4oz whiting and club member Keith Hollingsworth took the prize money for the biggest flat fish with his 8oz specimen.
Rick Jarvis also took the club prize of the No.10 Club Trophy.
The club only has two matches left this year and it looks like Rick is going to be the runaway winner of the league trophy and as it stands it is going to be a close run for second place between Danny Tennant, Carl Straw and Phil Aston.
The club’s next match is the Chapel Open on Saturday, December 10, to which everyone is invited.
