THE NORTHCOTE Heavy Horse Centre played host to a Medieval Tournament on Sunday, complete with birds of prey.

Hundreds of people flocked down to be cast back in time and enjoy the festivities which took place from 10.30am to 3pm.

“It was a very successful day, lots of people came and the weather was very kind. We managed to raise £2,000 and there were lots of stalls and it made for a very enjoyable day,” said Terena Bolam for the centre.

There was Medieval riding skill at arms, a costume parade, equestrian vaulting, fire-breathing, archery demonstrations and more.

There was also a bouncy castle, musical dog display, children’s games, archery, a side-saddle demonstration and hot and cold food. The Summer Fete event takes place on Sunday, June 17 at the centre.
