In the Sid Dennis and Sons Division Two the top two in the division met this week as table toppers Liberal Lads took on unbeaten second placed Finnigans,

A close game was on the cards and Finnigans’ S Millar took the opening singles, only to see Liberal Lads reel off the other five to lead 5-1 after the singles with captain E Hammond hitting 126 and 177. They then took the first pairs to lead 7-1 and the match at the point was won. They shared the other two pairs but Lads ran out comfortable 9-3 winners,

P Lonslow hit 121 and 123 for Finnigans, Ex Service C and Liberal Us ended up honours even at 6-6 despite the C 6-2 at one point,

K Brady hit 140, Cricket Club played host to Welcome Hillbillies and commanded the game from start to finish leading 4-2 after the singles. They then took all the doubles to record a 10-2 win,

Welcome Anchors took on the Vine and level 3-3 after the singles.

It was all to play for in the pairs and helped by N Huskisson 140, G Turner 140, and S Dore 125, 98 finish but it was the Anchors who got the win 7-5.

Royal oak met the WMC Aces in the final game in this division and after leading 4-2 after the singles, it was the Aces that had the initiative and rattled off two of the three pairs to gain a 8-4 win,

Aces’ P Atkinson had a b119 finish and G Jowett hit 125, 2 x 140 and 5 x 100,

Oaks’ T Parkin not to be outdone hit 2 x 140, an a 123 finish then a 100 finish.

In the Sid Dennis and sons Division One, some ‘catch up’ games took place this week, as Wainfleet outsiders took on Ex Service Sports and ran out as comfortable 9-3 winners.

Outsiders L Yates hit 2 x 140, D Tuplin 180, M Bell 180, while sports had B Martin, 134, 125, and J Molson 180.

A double header took place at the Ex Service as the Cobras took on 501s and it was all square at 3-3 after the singles.

It was the 501s who took the first two doubles to gain a 7-5 win twice,

R Bettison scored 125, 133, R Parnham hit 2 x 133, D Webb 140, 180 and top scored for the Cobras, while 501s had C Fletcher chalking up a 140, 180, and C Parnham weighing in with 2x 121, 140 180 and legs of 14 and 18 darts in his singles success over stand in captain R Bettison

Presentation night will take place at the WMC on June 6, with ‘The Rocket’, Ronnie Baxter and of course MC John Fowler.

Ronnie will be playing 20 league players and presenting the trophies on the night.
