It was a quiet week in the Ladbrokes Darts League, with only a catch up game this week due to the Easter break.

Barkham Arms took on Wainfleet Outsiders in the Sid Dennis and Sons division one. The Outsiders ran out 9-3 winners, with the Outsiders’ Dave Tuplin hitting a 170 checkout and a 12 dart leg. It was a fantastic achievement as he also hit one last year.

The result means that they can still catch WMC Steelers, but in reality the Steelers only need a point from their remaining two games and, as they are unbeaten this year, it looks very unlikely.

The battle is well and truly on for second spot though, and the Outsiders have it in their own hands as they are now one point ahead of rivals Ex-Service Cobras and have slightly better leg difference. Both teams have two games left.

At the foot of this table WMC Aces are relegated and second-bottom place is between the Ex-Service Sports and Liberal Lads

The Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd division two title looks to be going to the Seaview Raiders as they sit a massive six points clear of Ex-Service C and seven points ahead of Liberal Adams Family.

The Adams Family have a crucial game in hand, which could prove helpful for the runner-up spot should they win it.

Finnegans are a further point away in fourth, with Vine another point away in fifth, so it’s all to play for in the runner-up berth in this division.

Meanwhile, it is the Ladbrokes Darts League’s turn to host the inter league finals night this year.

It will take place at the Liberal Club on April 12, with D Tuplin being the league’s representative in the champion of champions. There are no division one games on this night so people’s support would be appreciated.

Trebles will take place at the Ex-Service Club on April 26. The Liberal Club doubles will be held at the Liberal on May 3, with the Zorbas singles at the Seaview on May 10. The finals night will be held at the Liberal Club on May 17.

The presentation night this year will take place on May 24 at the WMC with BDO World Champion Scott Waites taking on 20 league players, with at least six places being up for grabs on the night.

A first for the league this year is the booking of professional MC and caller Mr John Fowler.
