Joshua nets top spot

YOUNG anglers pitted their talents against one another to take the top slot at a recent junior fishing competition.

Pinetrees Leisure Park, Croft Bank, played host to 15 of the aspiring young anglers last Saturday.

Top prize went to Joshua Methley, followed by Samuel Wildgoose in second and Connor Barkes in third.

Event organiser Jim Dodsworth said: “It was a great occasion!

“To see so many young people engaging in an enjoyable day of fishing, was fantastic.”

The competitors caught a selection of bream, roach and other breeds and were judged on the largest and heaviest fish they caught.
