A disappointing weekend was in store for local racer Peter Hickman when his Lloyds British GBmoto Racing Honda failed to impress at Snetterton on Sunday.
He picked up a brace of 13th places and just six championship points to add to his tally.
Throughout the weekend the bike was down on power and Hicky was only able to make it through to the second stage of qualifying leaving him to start the first of two races from a fourth row grid position.
In sweltering heat Hicky got away to a good start and was soon up to 12th place. But the safety car was deployed for a crash further upfield which halted his progress for three laps.
Once the race was back underway Hicky dropped back to 15th before re grouping and moving forward to eventually cross the finish line in 13th position.
Race two went much the same way with the safety car halting the race in the opening stages. Hicky was unable to make any impact on proceedings and once again crossed the finish line in 13th place.
“I have no idea what the problem was,” he said. “Maybe it was the hot weather that upset the bike. Whatever, we have a lot of work to do and have a few ideas to try and resolve the issue so roll on Brands!”
The next round is at Brands Hatch over the weekend of July 19-21 when Hickman will be seeking two good results to add to boost his points and position in the rider standings at the half way stage of the series.
