On a sunny but breezy Skegness morning, 25 people from ages 16 to 71 years old took part in the first Go Tri duathlon organised by Skegness Triathlon Club.

Everyone finished the event, which started from Fresh Fitness Gym on Richmond Drive.

The event consisted of a one-mile run to the Eco Centre, a six-mile bike ride to Gibraltar Nature Reserve and back to the transition area for the last one-mile run to the finish line and a big cheer from supporters and family.

The event attracted both absolute beginners to multi-event sport and experienced triathletes who used the event as a training session.

It was a very friendly and low key event but still had marshall’s along the course and a qualified England Triathlon coach on hand for tips.

Some competitors have already entered the next Go Tri event, which is being held on Saturday, June 6.
