Skegness & District Running Club hosted the second race of the Bolingbroke Breaker series, and this time it was the eight-mile version which included three challenging hills.

The 72 runners were rewarded with some beautiful views once they reached the summits.

The rain that had come down in the afternoon stopped just 10 minutes before the race and the sun came out for the runners. It did create three small fjords for the runners.

First to cross the line was Tristan Learoyd from New Marske Harriers in a very fast time of 45:10 – beating the course record by more than three minutes.

Runner-up was Gary Thomas from Wolds Veteran Runners Club in 47:31, with Mark Sands from the host club third in 48:32.

First back for the ladies was Claire Cooney in an excellent time of 62:56, with Wolds Vets pair Vicky Thomas and Sian McCourt both clocking 66:28 for second and third.

The final race of the 2016 Breaker series will be a 10k run which will take place on Wednesday, August 24.

Everyone is welcome to have a go.
