Bowls enthusiasts from across the country made their way to Skegness this week as East Lindsey District Council hosted the June EBF Bowls Tournament.

The competition, which took place at the Skegness North Greens on North Parade, saw players from around the country come together to take part in this highly-anticipated tournament.

The event was broken down into separate categories which covered open singles, open pairs, mixed pairs and open rinks of three.

There were a mixture of local players taking part along with 186 entries from Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

The tournament, which was sponsored by the Skegness, East Coast and Wolds Hospitality Association (SECHWA) and Boston Bowls Supplies, was followed by a presentation which saw winners and runners-up presented awards by the Mayor of Skegness Councillor George Saxon, Mayoress Mrs Julie Saxon and the Chairman of SECWHA, Nigel Tett.

Results: Mixed Pairs - Winners - Ann Redford, Mansfield Woodhouse and Dennis Baxter, Kirkby in Ashfield; Runners-Up - Mr and Mrs Bannister, Helpringham; Open Singles - winner - Mr Phoenix, Spalding; Runner-Up - Mr Fyles, Arnold; Open Pairs - Winners - Mr Reeson, Boston and Mr Phoenix, Spalding; Runners-Up - Mr Bannister, Helpringham and Mr Hudson, Billinghay; Open Rinks of Three - Winners - Mr Reeson, Boston, Mr Phoenix, Spalding and Mr Wing, Boston; Runners-Up - Mr Copeland, Bilsthorpe, Mr Jelley, Bilsthorpe and Mr Fyles Arnold.
