The Marshall family from Kettering cleaned up by winning all the top prizes in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match, held in good conditions at Jacksons Corner.

Paul Marshall made it two wins on the trot by following up his success in the recent away match at Sutton Bridge, with another runaway win on this occasion, catching eight dabs and three weevers at distance for a total length of 236cm.

He also won the longest round fish prize with his best weever, which hit the measure at 15cm.

His son Tom belied his tender years by taking second place with two flounders and a weever for 73cm.

Tom also caught a specimen 34cm (1lb 1oz) flounder, to run out easy winner of the longest flatfish prize.

Withern’s Fred Donner filled the frame in third place with three flatties measuring 68cm.

The next SPAC match will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 5,30pm to 9.30pm at Bohemia Point, Sutton on Sea, with club members fishing for the Dutton Cup.

There is also an open section which non-members are welcome to participate in.
