Skegness-based Palms Tai Chi club has been given a cash boost with a £1,664 Lottery grant. The money, from the Awards for All fund, was used to purchase equipment. The club meets at the County Hotel and has several members with disabilities. Secretary Glennis Rogerson applied for the grant to buy Tai Chi rulers, hoops, ribbons, fans and swords.
The equipment aids movement and flexibility helping participants practice the ancient Chinese martial art. Glennis said: “I wrote in to ask for some money and didn’t hear immediately so thought there was none coming, imagine my surprise to receive exactly that asked for.”
Sessions take place Monday, 10-11.30am, and at Mablethorpe Station Sports Centre, Fridays 10.30-noon.
