SKEGNESS Freestyle Kickboxing held its black belt gradings for five students recently.

Juniors Justin Redford and Taylor Wann were first to complete the gruelling three-hour grading, followed by adults Marvin Spikings, Lisa Flay and Christopher Conway who completed the grading in four hours.

The adults completed a three-mile run before a 30 minute fitness test.

All students did every technique from the syllabus which included kicking and punching combinations, focus pad work, bag work, shadow fighting, self defence, weapon defence, sparring, submission grappling and much more.

The students were presented with their Black belts and certificates at a presentation at the gym on Heath Road by the six black belt instructors that were on the grading panel.

They were headed by Chief Instructor, Ross Flay, who said: “All students had prepared very well for this very tough challenge.

“It’s a great achievement for all students to complete the black belt grading and every one involved at the club is very proud of their efforts.”
