SKEGNESS Cricket Club kick off the new season of the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League this weekend, with a match against Hartsholme.

The club has a number of injury problems, however, with wicket keeper Carl Wilson sidelined by an injury sustained playing football for Heckington.

There are fitness doubts over bowler Steve Kirkham and all rounder Paul Butler.

Skippered by Tony Santini, they welcome back Wade McCall. They also have 19-year-old bowler Lochlan Christian in their ranks, as well as Norman Brackley, a top order batsman from Zimbabwe, who holds a British passport.

Skegness warmed up for the curtain-raiser with friendly fixtures at Billingborough and Woodhall Spa at the weekend.

At Billingborough on Saturday they were triumphant, but they fell 20 runs short at Jubilee Park the following day.
