United aim to turn up heat

THE only Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League game to survive the wintry weather was the derby match at Newark Road, where Ruston Sports hosted Nettleham on their 3G rubber pitch.

Victory by four goals to nil lifted Nettleham one place to fourth in the league table.

Jack Darby, Adam Buckley, Thomas Moore and Joshua Bowden scored the goals for the Nettles, who travel to CGB Humbertherm this weekend.

There will be a reduced league programme on Saturday due to the League’s involvement in the FA Inter League quarter-finals at Lincoln United’s Ashby Avenue ground (3pm).

But the top two teams are both in action as they push for honours.

Leaders Cleethorpes Town make the long trip to Swineshead Institute, while Skegness United hope to keep the pressure on when they welcome Louth Town Reserves to Wainfleet Road Playing Fields.
