NEWLY-REFORMED Skegness United have unveiled their new management team ahead of the club’s official launch next week.
Skegness United chairman Geoff Farrar revealed this week that Jason Callaby and Mark Hallam will be the first team managers in the 2011/12 season.
The pair said: “We are both honoured and excited about being appointed Skegness United FC managers and hope to provide a team that the people of Skegness can be proud of.
“We are fully aware of the difficult job that lies ahead starting a team from scratch, but we are determined to bring success here like the club ebjoyed in the 1920s and 30s.
“We are confident that we can entice a high calibre of player to the club that will allow us to achieve our goal climbing the football pyramid as quickly as possible.
“We are desperate for the people of Skegness to get behind us as we try to put Skegness back on the footballing map.”
The well-travelled Callaby is a very experienced player who has turned out for Lincoln United, Grantham Town, Boston Town, Spalding and Stamford in the past.
He also played alongside Hallam in the double-championship winning teams at Skegness Town and Louth Town in recent seasons.
Skegness-born Hallam spent a large part of his playing career at Skegness Town, winning two Lincolnshire League titles with the Lilywhites under the management of Paul Walden.
He has also represented Wyberton, Bourne Town and Louth Town FC.
Hallam is also a Level two FA coach, has taken part in the UEFA B coaching course at Lilleshall and spent five years as a school of excellence coach at Lincoln City. He was also the joint manager of the Lincolnshire County Schools U18 team for two years.
The club will hold its official launch party on Thursday, May 19 at 7pm.
