Scunthorpe League champions College Wanderers lifted the county cup after a 2-0 success at Sincil Bank.

Wanderers, had been beaten in an earlier round by Skegness Town, but were given a reprieve when it transpired that the seasiders’ goalscorer that day, Jake Gibson, had played for Spalding in another county cup competition.

Lincoln-based Rustons became their latest Lincolnshire League scalp at the home of Skrill Conference side Lincoln City.

The Wanderers took the lead after 15 minutes when goalkeeper Stephen Cassidy blasted a penalty past his opposite number Carl Stubbs.

George Richardson man of the match Wayne Graves added a second for the Scunthorpe champions early in the second half.

Wanderers were reduced to ten men in the 88th minute, when referee Nick Cook dismissed Paul Ellender.

Rustons’ best effort came in injury time when Cassidy tipped over a Butler effort.

The trophy was presented to the winners by Lincolnshire FA delegate Derek Andrew.
