The Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire Football League kicks off this Saturday and reigning champions Skegness United have been preparing to defend their title.

United kick off this weekend away at Hykeham Town with a 3pm kick off, quickly followed by a trip to Horncastle on Tuesday evening.

The United management team have been delighted how pre-season has gone. Manager Mark Hallam said: “The squad is ready and chomping at the bit to get started. The preparation has been excellent with just the right number of games giving everyone opportunity to get minutes and despite some of the results which are irrelevant in pre-season we have been delighted with the quality we have produced.”

Assistant Manager Jason Smith said: “Hykeham is a tough place to go to and as Champions we know everyone will be desperate to beat us this season. That added pressure is something we will relish and will hopefully keep all the players on their toes making it difficult to choose a starting 11 every week.”

United this week unveiled their new training kit for the 2013/14 season that has been generously sponsored by the Electric Centre. Mark Hallam said: “We are so grateful for their support and all the sponsors that have got behind us yet again.

The community have embraced this club since day one and we hope to keep giving back by getting results on the pitch and challenging for silverware.”
