Moulton Harrox 3 Skegness United 1

High-riding Skegness United were dumped out of the County Cup at the weekend after an uncharacteristically subdued team performance.

Despite riding high in the league, United failed to click on the day, and tweeted after the match that they were unrecognisable after a poor team showing.

Harrox, who play in the Peterborough League Premier Division, went three-nil up through Townsend, Gosling and Law.

Michael Howard scored a consolation for the seaside outfit.

“Following our defeat in the Cup on Saturday we’ll be looking to get back to winning ways this coming week,” said a spokesperson for the club.

“Our opponents are Cleethorpes Town Reserves, who will present a very tough challenge indeed.

“The game is away for us so if we can have a strong vocal travelling support it would be great to see, and hear, you all.”
