The Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League representative squad bowed out of the national FA Inter-League Cup competition with first-round defeat at Sleaford.

Managed by Matthew Easton, the Lincolnshire squad included players from seven of the league’s 12 clubs.

But they were put to the sword at Eslaforde Park by Wolstanton United, champions of the Staffordshire competition, who represented the league from the Potteries.

The visitors took the lead after 18 minutes when Jamie Kempson drove home after Lincs keeper James Cooper had blocked a Mark Grice effort.

Hykeham Town’s Joshua Raby levelled for Lincolnshire after 27 minutes when he rose to head home a Ryan Pell free kick.

Chris Broad added two goals after the break as the Staffordshire League turned up the heat. Grice was the other scorer for the visitors.

Lincs squad: James Cooper, James Slater, Steve Mehta, Joshua Raby, Callum Chapman (Hykeham Town), Jon Macleod, Elliott Pogson, Ben Jaques (Wyberton), Lewis Burchnall, Chris Johnson, Andrew Shinn, Michael Harness (Horncastle Town), Daniel Reid (Skegness United), Will Britton (Skegness Town), Ben Brown (Brigg Town Reserves), Ryan Pell (Lincoln Railway AFC).
