Leading scorer Liles leads title charge

Skegness FC 3, Louth Old Boys 0

SKEGNESS started slowly into a strong headwind defending deep and looking to hit Liles and Reid on the break.

After 25 minutes the first goal of the game was scored by the league’s leading scorer Liles. He linked up with Reid and volleyed home.

The second half started with chances falling to Reid, Fairburn and Russell before Liles got his second of the game, Critchlow sent him through to unleash an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner of the net.

With five minutes left Lonslow beat two defenders and forced a great save, but the loose ball fell to Fairburn who made no mistake from five yards out.

It was Skegness FC’s sixth straight win.

Manager Edgley said: “It was a solid display in difficult conditions. The attacking players I have will always score goals. Another clean sheet was a credit to our defence and keeper.”
