UNBEATEN Skegness Town dropped their first points of the season when they let a two-goal lead slip at Bradley Stadium, Grimsby.

But the point they gained was enough to lift them to the top of the Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League.

The seasiders were depleted by work commitments, but led at the break through a Ben Davison header, following a 20th minute Liam Papworth free kick.

Ten minutes into the second half the advantage was doubled when Davison set up Aaron Liles, who turned his man and drilled home.

Borough got themselves back in the game three minutes later when they took advantage of a mix-up in the visiting defence and scored through John Waugh.

The same player equalised for the home side with 15 minutes to go when he pounced on another error in defence.

Town were put under intense pressure as Borough sought a winner, but the Lilywhites, playing in their new away kit, sponsored by Haines Watts Accountants, hung onto their point.

Skegness Town: Clark, Nicholls, S Graham, Parish, Howland, Lonslow, Davison, Papworth, Melton, Liles, Reid, Verheul.
