Waiting for Video...

A Skegness pub landlord - dressed as St George - is enjoying watching England in Brazil.

Paul Farrell, landlord of the Churchill, is currently in São Paulo waiting for tonight’s (Thursday’s) game against Uruguay.

He watched England’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Italy in the opening game.

He said: “Manaus was very very hot with 90 per cent humidity. The game I thought was very balanced and it could have gone either way, unfortunately for us it went Italy’s way.”

He added: “I am here now in São Paulo waiting for today’s game. Tickets for the game are going for £400 upwards - there is a big shortage of tickets. There are lots of fans here without tickets - fortunately I have one.”

Dressed as St George, Paul is proving popular with the locals.

He said: “I have been on local TV they love St George. There are big parties in the street. After Brazil, Mexico 0-0 draw they still celebrated as if they won.”

He added: “There are a few protest here against the government but nothing that is effecting the fans.”
