Drury: We need to hit top gear

Joint-boss Graham Drury
admits Holbeach United can’t expect to maintain their 100 per cent league record with below-par performances.

The Tigers made it six
successive top-flight wins as Danny Spencer got the only goal at Oadby Town.

Drury said: “It’s another
win chalked off but to be
honest the performance
levels were not up to the
standard again.

“We seem to have dropped off the pace a little bit with
the way we are playing.

“We had a hard game in midweek so winning 1-0 was a case of job well done.

“However, I think some of the players need to step up their performances.

“It’s quite frustrating to be 1-0 up knowing it would only take one breakaway which could cost us.

“We need to make sure we are hitting top form instead of going through the gears.”

Saturday’s game also saw new signing Stacy Cartwright make his Holbeach debut as a substitute.
