Skegness Town have a couple of friendlies lined up this weekend at their new look Burgh Road ground.
The seasiders welcome former Lilywhite Ryan Whittle and his Grimsby-based side on Friday evening.
The following day Burgh Road is the venue for a ‘round robin’ fixture against Sileby Town and Clifton.
At 2pm the seasiders will take on Sileby for 45 minutes, followed by three quarters of an hour against Clifton. Sileby will then play Clifton in the final 45 minute period. This allows all three sides to play 90 minutes.
Town boss Nick Chapman said he was happy with the way the squad was taking shape after a convincing warm-up win over neighbours Louth Town Academy.
“We have made some quality signings and are looking forward to being competitive this season,” he said, after seeing his side beat Louth 5-0.
Town opened the scoring early in the game through Matt Veall before goals from Michael Gardner and Ben Davison made the half time score 3-0.
Further strikes from Danny Wilkes and Michael Parnham completed the scoring in the second half as the mist descended on Burgh Road, a ground that has benefited from another round of investment during the summer.
Further improvements have been carried out to the changing rooms and car park, which have been unveiled during a week in which the club has been acknowledged by the Football Association for achieving Charter Standard.
