Alford’s Emma Bristow competed in round one of the 2013 Ladies British Trials Championship at North Berks Motor Cycle Club, on March 16.
The riders were greeted to some cold and wet weather at the Seymour’s Arena venue, near Oxford, although the day also witnessed some welcome breaks of sunshine.
Sherco factory rider, Emma Bristow started her 2013 championship challenge in very confident mood, easily taking the win from her nearest rival Becky Cook, with a clear winning margin, contested over three laps of twelve sections.
“I am very happy to have won the opening round of this year’s series as the conditions were very difficult with the changing weather conditions during the day. I also had to adapt my riding style to suit the new Non-Stop ruling”, said Emma.
“On my opening lap I stayed very focussed and rode all the hazards, first in front of the competition and at the end of the lap, I had an eight mark cushion. On the second and third laps, as the conditions deteriorated, I further increased my lead and posted the only clean rides on the very technical section twelve.
“The hard work I have put in training in both Spain and the UK has certainly paid off. The Sherco is a fantastic machine to ride and I would like to thank all my sponsors and the team around me for providing this superb start to my 2013 season”.
