THERE was a full grid of 32 cars at the ever-popular Brands Hatch indy circuit for the Mk II Golf GTI Championship.
It was a dry sunny morning, with some very fast times in qualifying, which left 20-year-old James Bark, from Huttoft, in pole position for the two afternoon races.
James won both races with lights-to-flag victories; in the first race he won with a 1.990 second lead, and won the second with an 8.591 second lead, in a faultless day’s racing.
This double success followed on from a previous meeting at Donnington Park in April, in which James achieved another lights-to-flag victory from pole position, with an impressive eight second lead at the finish.
James’s brilliant start to the new season has been made possible with the work of Ian Hart of Huttoft service station, who spends many hours preparing the race car to the highest standard, race after race.
The next meeting will be of local interest, at Cadwell Park, on May 22, with another massive entry for three races.
