Unavoidably postponed from last autumn, Friday evening brought the players and supporters of Burgh & District Cricket Club to The Red Lion, Burgh, for the club’s 2014 Annual Awards.

The evening of entertainment and mirth, most ably assisted by landlord Max Waxman and his Lionesses, raised in excess of £200 for club funds.

Welcoming all to the occasion, club captain Richard Underwood thanked everyone present for their invaluable, unstinting efforts throughout what was an unremarkable and difficult season, mentioning in particular the sterling contributions of vice-captain Phil Sharp, Jonathan Thorndike and recipient of the Clubman Of The Year Award Terry Brown. The other award winners were Richard Hill (Fielder Of The Year), Jonathan Thorndike (Skelton Shield for Young Player Of The Year), Phil Sharp (Collinson Bowling Trophy) and Richard Underwood (Collinson Batting Trophy).

With indoor nets already under way, anyone interested in playing for the Millers this year should contact either Richard Underwood (07817995414) or Phil Sharp (07941436348) for further details.
