A full programme in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League saw three clubs gain maximum points - and Grimsby’s Neal Snell hit the day’s only century.

But Snell’s efforts couldn’t prevent Market Deeping picking up 20 points at Augusta Street, joining Grantham who notched up 20 at Bourne and Sleaford, who bowled Louth out for the lowest total of the day to win by seven wickets.

Louth managed just 78, while the highest innings came at Bourne where Grantham -made 278 for seven, Ross Carnelly hitting 74 and Ben Powell unbeaten on 72 at the close.

Bourne found runs far harder to come by and never recovered after being reduced to 38 for four, their last wicket falling on 156.

Grimsby’s tail wagged as from 123 for eight, Snell and Matthew Owen put on 40 and Snell was last man out as the final score reached 187.

Lee Charlton reduced the visitors to 40 for three before Alex Wheatley and new signing Patrick Harrington steadied the ship with a stand of 67.

Wheatley hit 47 and Harrington 42 and David Sargeant chipped in with 35 as Deeping claimed a four wicket win.

At the Mayflower Ground, Boston’s bowlers kept the Bracebridge Heath score down to 197 of which Brett Houston hit 66.

The champions slumped from 126 for four to 136 for seven before Matt Carter and Matt Bradley staged a revival and Carter went on to take four wickets as Boston were all out for 125.

South African Rhett Bridgens, who last year helped Nettleham to promotion, celebrated their return to Premier League cricket with 54 at Lindum while skipper Jack Curtis made 42, sharing a partnership with Bridgens that took the total from 42 for three to 120 for four.

The innings ended on 150 for six and Lindum also got off to a slow start before Will Wright and Charlie Tomlinson got into their stride, putting on 55 for the first wicket.

Wright and Bradley Mitchell then saw Lindum home to a nine wicket win finishing unbeaten on 60 and 52 respectively.

The most exciting game of the day was at Skegness where 16-year-old Woodhall Spa wicketkeeper Jack Timby put in a man of the match performance.

Timby shared a first wicket stand of 52 with Jack Luffman and after the second wicket fell on 72, put on 118 with Christian Anderson (66).

By the time Timby was bowled by Tom Cuthbert, he was just five short of his first Premier League century and Woodhall had reached 230 for four.

One more wicket fell as the overs closed on 240 and with Skegness on 74 for four and the run rate slowing, Woodhall scented victory.

However, a captain’s innings from Sean Chamberlain who put on 80 with Cuthbert, and a further 33 with Ashley Redgard kept the seasiders in the running.

While Chamberlain was still there, victory was well within sight but when the skipper gave new Woodhall signing Tanveer Sikander his fifth wicket, falling for 64.
