Louth Town Academy 2 Burgh Town 2

Burgh broke the deadlock when Ben Taylor launched the ball to Jordan Houlston. With no support, he was left with no option but to go it alone.

He charged down the left, out-pacing his marker and fired the ball across the box. Ryan Rocky Beresford had managed to sprint the whole length of the pitch from right back and threw himself at the ball, which flew into the back of the net.

The second half saw early pressure from Louth and Burgh were still struggling to cope and as they tried to clear a cross, the ball struck Holmes on the arm and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot, Taylor was sent the wrong way and the scores were level.

Midway through the second half, Carter found Stamp wide on the right. He moved the ball on nicely to Kilner in the centre, who in turn crossed a juicy ball into the box. Houlston jumped at the near post and flicked it on. It was half cleared, but only into the path of substitute John Maycock, who pounced to fire home with his first touch.

Deep into added time, Louth launched one last attack and a cross somehow managed to miss every player but landed directly in the path of the Louth right winger who smashed the ball into the back of the net.

On Saturday, Burgh entertain Manby (kick-off 1.45pm).
