With the the 2016 season closing in, two big signings have Alford CC excited for the opening fixture away at Market Rasen.

Australian all rounder Nick Pell and left arm quick bowler Nick Bennett have both joined Andrew White’s charges.

Pell, 19, has joined from sister club Greta CC in North East Victoria, where fellow Alford players Tom White, Michael Honman and Bradley McGilloway have all been plying their cricketing trades this winter.

Bennett has joined from Bolton-based club Lostock CC, and he will be a useful addition, offering a pacey left arm option for White to consider.

White’s first team start with the journey to Market Rasen on April 16, followed up by the arrivals Lincoln-based Hartsholme a week later.

Tom Perry’s second team start with a long trip to Alkborough on the 16th.

A surge in numbers has also seen the club expand the junior section.

They are now running teams in under 11, under 13 and under 15 age groups this summer.
