A stinging 10k race

A group of eager Skegness Coasters took part in the annual Sting in the Tail 10k on Sunday.

The race, which is held in Caistor, starts on Castle Hill and finishes in the market place.

The majority of the race is fairly flat, until the the last 2 kilometres which features three short but stiff inclines and a final tough uphill section to the finish.

Janet Harmston (53:59), David Young (54:47), Rochelle Hawksley (55:08), Sue Smith (56:21), Andy Wilkinson (1:03:48), Helen Kennedy (1:05:38) and Claire Parker (1:28:05) all participated in the event.

Claire said: “The race marshalls were all friendly and encouraged you on, and the event was very well organised.”

Martin Jessop, also of Skegness Coasters, took part in NotFast 10K on Sunday, gaining a time of 48:43.

Skegness Coasters caters for all abilities and meets every Tuesday at The Welcome Inn at 6.30pm.
