Saturday - A team from Skegness will compete in the final of a national angling competition in July after winning their semi-final in Solihull, on Saturday.
Members of Skegness Match Group cast a net around their opponents at Barston Lakes and the team is confident it can triumph in the Angling Times Van den Eynde Super Cup.
Captain Gary Walton said: "We are going to go for the win and we are quietly confident."
He said the group last won the competition in 2002 but had contested seven finals and eight semi-finals in the past nine years.
The team, which is sponsored by Woodlands Fishery in Ashby Road, Spilsby, was one of seven to progress to the finals at JCB Lakes in Rochester, on July 19.
Mr Walton said the group had been meeting for training at the fishery most weekends since February to improve the team performance and said a team of six would represent the group at the finals.
Fishery owner Eric Watson said: "We are absolutely delighted to be associated with and support such a fine group of anglers and we wish them every success in the final at JCB Lakes in July."
