TOP-FLIGHT Speedtrack motorcycle racing will return to Irby in the Marsh on Sunday.
The East Midland track racing season will start with the first round of the centre championships for adult solos and sidecars plus the Junior Poacher for the young riders.
Organised by Wainfleet and District Sporting Motorcycle Club, the meeting has attracted competitors from as far afield as Kent, Wales and Bristol to compete against the best of the local racers.
Bradley Kite, from Kent, is the UK's newest and youngest ACU nomination to contest this year's World Longtrack Championships.
At only 17, he will be up against the flying 18-year-old Jamie Rodgers from Sheffield and Martin William from Newent.
Also in the chase will be England's fastest off-road woman rider Teri Massingham and, also, in the 500cc class, Ricky Scarboro, of Wragby, and the popular Dean Garrod, from Norfolk.
In the 350cc event 17-year-old Michael Faulkner, of Little Steeping, and 15-year-old Aaron Pease, of Cambridge, will have Ben Morbey of Stickney and 12 other top 350cc riders to contend with.
The 250cc class looks just as impressive with Ben Morbey's brother, Sam, and Chris Archer, from Louth among the entrants. But the one they all have to beat is 250cc British champion David Knowles from York.
Last year's centre champion Colin Blackbourn and passenger Paul Whitelam Jnr head the biggest line-up of awesome 1000cc sidecars at a centre championship.
The 150 break horse power machinery, the fastest off-road sidecars in the world, racing only inches apart, has to be seen to be believed.
Looking to take the championship from Colin Blackbourn will be 2004 British champion Paul Whitelam and the new passenger Ian Whale, and also club chairman Reg Blackbourn with Martin Bailey in the chair, and 18 other crews any of which could win on the day.
The junior poacher has 22 young entrants aged from 6-15. They will ride in four classes and come from as far as Kent and York.
Racing on Sunday will start at 1.30pm with practice at noon.
The venue is off the B1195 Spilsby to Wainfleet road, signposted from the A52, A16 and A158.
