Skegness 176 for 9
Alford 67 all out
(Skegness won by 109 runs)
A SEVEN-wicket haul by Skegness paceman Steve Kirkham saw Skegness to a comfortable victory over local rivals Alford.
Six of Alford-based Kirkham's victims were bowled as they struggled to deal with his pace at Train Fen Holt.
Alford won the toss and put Skegness into bat.
The loss of openers Charlie Walker and Tim Pashen brought skipper Wade McCall and Paul Butler together at the crease, but this time McCall was unable to hang around so long.
It was left to Butler to carry his bat for a match winning 82 runs.
Alford's bowlers had put their team in a strong position and at one stage the seasiders were reeling on 87 for 7, but a half century partnership with tenth man David Jacobs, following the 28 Butler and Saheed Bariwala put on, built the recovery.
Extras top scored for the home side as Kirkham set about demolishing their defences and finished the job off with 20 overs to spare.
