Monday, 10.15am - THE first of the monthly circuit time trials was held on the undulating South Thoresby, Aby, Authorpe circuit over three laps.

Promoted by the Alford Wheelers, 19 riders took part in the 17-mile race where they faced time keeper Paul Griffiths for this popular mid-week club event.

The course had to be modified at the last minute, due to roadworks, but conditions were good and the times recorded reflected this.

It was close at the top with Aaron Tuplin, 43 minutes, 21 seconds; and junior Finnian Haynes, 43-49; and veteran John Elliott third in 44-03.

Other times were: 4 Chris O'Rourke, 44-26; 5 Russell Lintin, 45-21; 6 Glenn Palmer, 47-24; 7 Mick Pell, 48-19; 8 Richard Mumby, 49-08; 9 Andy Wilkinson, 49-33; 10 Alan Yost, 50-40; 11 Robert Dalton, 52-04; 12 Brendon Thomas, 52-41; 13 Trevor Dalton, 53-00; 14 Stuart Waumsley, 58-11; 15 Les Brill, 60-15.

In the two-lap schoolboys' event, Tyler Wright and Ryan Thomas recorded 45-22 and 47-24 respectively, very good for two 12 year-olds attempting this type of event for the first time.
